Conservation Service Days
Did you know that some of our urban protected areas receive as many visitors as some National Parks?
As Valley’s population continues to grow, more and more community members are using the region’s preserve system. That’s a good thing, but naturally all this increased use has an impact. While our population has grown tremendously, the preserve system has not. Acreage, budgets, and staffing remain largely the same as they were a decade ago.
The Central Arizona Conservation Alliance hosts Conservation Service Days as a way to link members of the community to real issues and challenges on the preserves and to inspire action. Whether we are restoring rogue trails or painting ramadas, Conservation Service Days encourage civic engagement, foster a sense of community, and build capacity for conservation on our mountain preserves.
