Conservation without collaboration would be impossible. This is something the Alliance knows well.

The Regional Open Space Strategy

The Alliance works to unite all of the collective efforts to conserve and protect open space in the Central Arizona region and to that aim, the Alliance has released different products after months of stakeholder input and collaboration. These two visionary products, the Regional Open Space Strategy for Maricopa County (ROSS) and the Natural Infrastructure Viewer (the Greenprint) are presented here.

The ROSS is a strategic document to guide our partners towards the future, and the future of our open spaces. The ROSS combines time-tested and innovative strategies to achieve four overarching goals:

THE CAZCA GREENPRINT

This Natural Infrastructure Viewer was developed in conjunction with the Trust for Public Land and Sonoran Institute. This viewer helps our partners, stakeholders and the community at large to visually see where our most valuable natural assests live in our region. Giving us a bird’s eye view of how best to approach conservation and management in our region. This mapping tool was developed over an 18 month process with multiple stakeholders, meetings, and great support from our partners.
